Elisabeth Hasselbeck attacked Ashley Judd and co-hosts on The View today over a PSA that Judd released speaking out against aerial wolf hunting and Sarah Palin.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck unsuccessfully tries to compare wolf hunting to abortion claiming that Ashley Judd should be "as loud about the wolves as the 260,000 kids that are killed in abortions." When the other hosts of The View try to redirect her back to the topic at hand she calls them SOCIALISTS!

My first reaction to this was to be annoyed but on second review I couldn't help but laugh. Hasselbeck completely embarrasses herself by making such an extreme comparison and then losing her temper and yelling at her co-hosts. Why doesn't Ashley Judd have a right to campaign for a cause that she believes in? Nobody is putting Elisabeth Hasselbeck down for her pro life views; she just chose to shove them down people's throats in an inappropriate way.

 

Do you think Hasselbeck was out of line or effectively using The View to promote her pro life agenda?

It's one thing to have a cause, it's totally another to attack someone just because they have a different cause. I think it's perfectly ok to be outraged for both causes. I also think that using her position on the View like that was out of line. Especially in light that she turned on her co-hosts that way. (my opinion)

Can someone just muzzle Hasselbeck? I'm not sure why the View even hired her b/c it seems that the more she talks the dumber she sounds.

And why is she showing so much cleavage on a TV program watched mostly by women? Trying to attract out-of-work male viewers?

I am convinced that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is encouraged to behave that way on The View. It is very good for ratings.

I find it ironic that Hasselbeck berates "vocal celebrities" when this is obviously what she is striving to be.

Furthermore! To make this a debate about choice (no - not abortion - CHOICE) proves how stupid Hassebeck is.

Thanks for posting this; it reminds me of one great reason I don't watch this show - Hasselbeck's sheer ignorance.

Elizabeth is a known conservative and Republican. I'm guessing that she was annoyed about the mention of Sarah Palin at all- it probably had nothing to do with the subject at hand.

I saw too many pictures of a smiling Sarah Palin with dead or dying animals (one with her small kids included) to last a lifetime.

I think Elisabeth did a great job of exposing the hypocrsy of the animal rights people who do not take a stand against abortion and infanticide.

By the way putting a bounty on animals to hasten their culling is nothing new.
I would bet it has been done in every state in the Union. I know it was a common practice in the midwest to rid farmers of pest that would destroy crops and livestock.

Funny thing you don't find too many wolf lovers here in Montana. They have been a problem to ranchers for a very long time. If Sarah wants to shoot them from an airplane fine by me. I don't care how she shoots them as long as she does.

Killing wolves is like Abotion? yeah sure and harvesting wheat is like fishing.

No need to call her a dumb blonde... although she is showing both attributes..... lol I think it is the hormones wreaking havoc on her body because she is pregnant once again!!!!!! cut her some slack for being motherly, hormonal and pregnant.. never call her a dumb blonde... that is just wrong.. I never understood why the View hired Elisabeth. She isn't smart and she's really annoying! The only thing she did prior to the View was be a contestant on the "Survivor" show. They should replace her with someone more intelligent and eloquent.

Actually, I know of a few Gather members who can turn any discussion into a pro-life rant. As for Hasselbeck, I'm pretty sure the others keep her around for comic relief and nothing more.

Who on that show doesn't have an agenda? I don't watch it, but every time I see some clip etc., it is all agenda. They never seem to be fully informed on what they talk about anyway.

www.abc.com/the view Make your complaints valid to ABC and let's try to get this idiot off the show. I have always enjoyed The View -- that is until Elisabeth came on board. I find her soooo annoying that I don't even watch the show anymore unless I know she's not going to be on it. For those that don't know, whe was on a silly show called "Survivor" and that is how she got her foot in the door. Somebody, please slam that door on her face now!!!! Please......she should just stay home and do her reproducing in private and keep her mouth shut....she must makes me cringe.....I am home sick again today and actually have it on - anyone notice the looks on the faces of the other hosts when the blonde is speaking....there is a coolness in the air for sure....time for her to go!!!!!

If you are a pro-lifer for animals, then why not bring in an argument against abortions? It's fair to ask people who are supposedly fighting to keep animals from slaughter to do the same for humans. I can't see what the flap is about really.

I would think folks who advocate murdering wolves from the air would be in favor of abortion. I mean when you think about it from the Right's point of view. If having an abortion is in effect the murder of an innocent life. The why is the murder of a wolf from an aircraft... not?

The way folks on the Right partition the value they put on life is most curious. In this modern age why would anyone kill a wolf? You can't really eat wolf. Killing a wolf today is a senseless act. But of course when did Republicans ever make any sense.

Actually Devin, "in this day and age" the killing of predators in certain areas is the only to keep a stable population of some animals; including them. Human freeways, city sprawl, and other development have created false ecosystems that can't be maintained without proper game management techniques. Sometimes the killing of such predators is needed and good for the ecosystem. Coyotes here for example kill 80% of all newborn Antelope, and thier population is out of control due to man; they actually benefit from us, and thus must be controlled or thier numbers will exceed the carrying capacity of the land.

The only reason anyone thinks Elizabeth is out of line is becuase they don't like to be reminded they are hipocrites. Sarah Palin is charged with protecting wildlife and people in the state of Alaska, none of the idiots masquerading as actors and actresses have a clue what that is about. There are indegenous people who depend on the meat from those herds and Sarah believes they have a right to eat and feed their families. People, wolves are not 4 legged fuzzy lovely humans in fur coats they are killing machines that don't so much kill their prey as eat it to death. That includes horses dogs cows lambs and even the occasional human being. Grow up Ashley Judd can quiver her lower lip over this all she wants but real people living on the ground do not agree with hers or Defenders of Wildlife's sentiments. And yes Hassleback had a point just becuase you don't agree with her doesn't mean it isn't completely valid.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is no more shoving her views down anyone's throat than anyone else on that show. She just happens to have a *different* view that the rest of the ladies and it's easy to pick on her.

Usually, if we don't like the views of another person we accuse them of shoving them down our throats.

I also do not think her comparing Ashley Judd's passion for animal life to a lack of passion for human life is a stretch at all. In fact, that is the entire irony of left leaning liberalism. There is this delusional belief that they care about *life*, but what they really care about is their own narrow definition of what life is.

Elisabeth's point is pretty clear. If you're going to be outraged at the loss of a life, why not express outrage at the loss of human life. But then, that view is just not sexy enough for the liberals is it?
