Adam Lambert vs. Kris Allen: Who should win American Idol?

And then there were two. If you ask me, America got it right by voting Adam Lambert and Kris Allen into the finals on American Idol.

Regardless of who wins the competition, both contestants will receive record contracts. (At this point, even Danny Gokey is likely to.) However, it always looks nice on the resume to say you were the winner of a ratings juggernaut that last year had over 30 million viewers tune into the season finale.

Who should win American Idol? Kris Allen or Adam Lambert? My choice is Kris Allen. Sure, Adam Lambert has been a fan favorite all season and is a talented performer, however, Kris Allen is the more marketable option of the two. Kris Allen has the looks, the voice and the style. Not to mention he screams Top 40 radio and is already a heartthrob. Though we all enjoyed Adam Lambert's over-the-top rendition of "Cryin" this week, we all know that his cover would be outsold by Kris Allen's version of "Heartless".

Vote on who you think should win American Idol.

They both are great but Adam has more of the full package in he is a more diverse and instinctual artist.

I watched "Idol" for the 1st time in 3 years. Kris was the only one that impressed me for the reasons you state.

Vocally, Kris cannot compete with Adam. Adam is a true star and continues to amaze me week after week. I look forward to seeing what he will do next. Kris is just ok and not a breakthrough star. Adam should win!

I may be the only person in the world who doesn't watch American Idol BUT I've seen the 2 of the runners up on other shows. I think that Adam looks more like a rock star. He will most likely win. He seems to have more of a fan base, including Simon (although it isn't fair that Simon got Bono to let him sing one of U2's songs).

I don't watch American Idol but I do watch a lot of other reality shows. I just never got into it. I do adore Kelly though!

I think Adam should be a shoe in, but you never know. I thought David Archuleta would win last year.

While I agree with you that Kris would be more "top 40" and marketable, if you look at the the past few years with bands coming out, such as Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects, I can see Adam sliding into that market which is growing more and more everyday. As a music lover, I think either one could win, and I'd buy either one's music when it came out.

I think Adam will win as he appeals to the younger crowd who watches the show more than any other group out there.

I haven't watched american idol that much over the years, but have watched this season. I'd say adam should win, not that chris isn't good. Adam's vocals are stronger, with a wider range; he's got some killer pipes on him!

I think Kris Allen should win also ... but it's going to be a close race! I think Ryan said that out of 80 million votes there was only a difference of 1 million between the top two this week ... and I think Danny's fans are more likely to vote for Kris than Adam.

All season I was voting for both Kris and Adam....They were my favorite contestants on the show. At first I wanted Adam to win the title, but now a part of me hopes that Kris becomes the winner. Either way both are winners already.....And their music careers are set. I wish they could just call it a tie though.........That would be fair.

It is hard to chose. I like Kris a lot and he is really the All-Amreican guy, but I think all around that Adam is the most talented of the two.

I think Adam is the better vocalist. However, I agree with you that Kris is more marketable and I think he has a much better chance of pulling Danny's votes.

Kris is ok. He can sing well and I like what he did with Heartless. Would I listen to him on the radio? Sure. Would I pay money to go and see him in concert? No way. He just can't command a stage and work a crowd like Adam can. Adam is the better performer and the better vocalist. He should win.

That being said, how many things that SHOULD happen actually DO happen? This one is a toss up because they both have a giant fan base.

Ok. Here's the deal: Kris is a lot like Rickey Nelson was in his day. Nice enough voice, the young girls think he's cute. Aside from that, he's not going to carry a concert and be the headliner. His voice is no better then thousands of other guys. Adam, on the other hand, is a real performer who can entertain...and...flash! This guy can sing! He's the best Idol contestant in years! Kris could win on fan base because his youthful following are texting as many as 4,000 votes in their two hours, but Adam is the King. (Think Elvis of the 2.000's)

And of course we all know that Kris won... so do we hear anything about him nowadays.. not a peep... he only won because of conservative Americans voting for him... so great talent didnt stand a chance but the fans have since spoken with cd sales, concert sellouts... eat your heart out Kris Allen.
