Aerosmith's Steven Tyler was rushed to the hospital last night after falling from the stage during the group's "Love In an Elevator" performance. They were performing at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota. The fall happened when Tyler was entertaining the crowd with his dance moves after the sound system failed during the song.
Tyler, 61, was on the stage's catwalk when he stepped too far backward and fell into the crowd. Security guards immediately rushed to help him and he was taken to the emergency department at 12:15AM. The crowd cheered when Tyler stood up on his own while being protected by the guards. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry came out after midnight to inform the crowd that the show would not conclude as Tyler was on his way to the hospital.
Reports claim that Tyler was in excellent spirits at the hospital and was joking around with staff members. He sustained injuries to his neck and head but it is unclear as of yet how serious they are.
Here's the video of the performance. It doesn't show his fall unless I miss it somehow? I'll keep looking and update this if I find a better one!
Have you ever been to an Aerosmith concert? I have not but I can imagine that Tyler does some crazy dancing during the performance. Share your concert experiences if you've been and let's all send some good wishes for a speedy recovery!
