Twilight ZONE

Rod Sterling’s old television show, “The Twilight Zone” was very popular. a lot of unheard-of soon-to-be great actors started there.

 

What strikes me most, is how I remember those episodes. No other TV program impacted me enough to leave lasting memories of any episode.

 

Am i just a freak or did it have that impact on you?

I actually found a Web site that listed all the episodes of The Twilight Zone that seems to have been taken down. I was surprised to see some of the actors who appeared on the series.

I remember the episode "Little Girl Lost" in which a girl had accidentally fallen into another dimension.

I remember "Where Is Everybody?" in which a man found himself in a town empty of people except for himself.

I remember "To Serve Man" starring Lloyd Bochner in which aliens came to earth pretending to be friendly when, in truth, they were coming to bring back people for culinary consumption.

I remember one episode (don't remember the name) that starred Agnes Moorhead that was without dialogue.

There were more, but I'll let others give the details, as I remember plots better than I remember episode and actors' names.

was the Agnes Moorhead episode teh one where a space ship lands the old ladys addict? That one gave me the creeps...

That's the one. I found on Wikipedia that the episode was named "The Invaders".

"To Serve Man" was unbelievable. I'll never forget that one.

The stories were memorable because they were based on successful science fiction short stories and novellas. Because they had good writing, they had a good show. Good science fiction always has memorable aspects.

Wasn't that Agnes Moorhead episode about an old woman in a shack who is annoyed by strange pests and finally manages to kill those things from NASA?

Really , alot of them were based on ancient tales... many were classice morality tales and fables, just juiced up for modern times... They were far more sophistacated than the average sci-fi

I had previously read the science fiction stories that many of them were based on. And they didn't take average science fiction, they took the good stuff. The movie wasn't nearly as good.

I love that one... I watch it every year when the marathon happens even though I already have ALL the episodes on my computer.

i don't remember watching twilight zone as a kid. my parents didn't like it i suppose. i've seen a few reruns over the years, but don't remember them well enough. :)

I loved twilight zone and night gallery. though I do not like to watch today's horror movies. I liked the fact that it made your imagination work without being bloody and gory. I recently saw one about a bomb shelter made in this man's house. It show'd how the neighbors turned ugly as the time was getting closer for the world to fall apart.

the neighbors broke down the door. The time that the world was going to end, passed and nothing happened. everyone left the house, but the family that was in the bunker was stunned and mortified by the barbaric acts of their neighbors.

I remember a lot of them....especially the one where the town all had pig faces except one woman, she was beautiful and they felt sorry for her 'affliction'...everyone looked at her in horror. I think they operated on her face, I forgot the ending.

And the one where Telly Savalas's stepdaughter had this awful doll that was going to kill him.

I loved them as a kid and still watch the "marathons" on SciFi when they have. I can't say I have a favorite though....I think they are all good!

Dexter, et al. Not only did TZ affect we as a generation in general; it greatly affected one Steven Spielberg-- much of his science fiction work stems from the TZ episode wherein a lone elderly lady in a house in the country has a small ufo land on her rooftop. That inspired Spielberg GREATLY.
Also, on a cute note: I watched the debut of the new CBS series the good Wife the other night. The lead character's cell-phone ( programmed by her daughter) PLAYS THE TWILIGHT ZONE INTRO when it rings. Lonnie Fowler

i LOVE this post!!! SHADIE is a twilight zone freak! her hubby downloaded every episode ever made for her when they started dating.

i remember when everyone had plastic surgury to look the same

I've seen a lot of Twilight Zone on the sci-fi channel, and my hubbys dvd's but I don't think they really impacted me. I don't really remember any of them specifically.
