Tyler Perry's mother dies

Tyler Perry's mother, Willie Maxine Perry, passed away yesterday, December 8. Perry made the announcement on his official website Tuesday, thanking his fans for all of their prayers.

Perry has stated many times that his mother has been a huge inspiration to a number of his own projects - from Madea's Family Reunion to his most recent producing success Precious. A cause of death has not been confirmed/announced. We send him our thoughts and condolences.

Condolences for sure and by the way, Tyler will be on a Barbara Walters interview special tonight - check your abc listings.
