An Australian banker became an Internet sensation after he was caught on live television viewing images of scantily clad supermodel Miranda Kerr on his computer.
The bank will soon decide whether Dave Kiely should be fired for inappropriate conduct. Meanwhile, there's on online "Save Dave" campaign going on for those who want to lobby the Macquarie Bank not to fire the guy.
The web campaign lists four reasons for Kiely to keep his job, according to Reuters: He seems like a nice bloke; the photographs were not hardcore; he has suffered enough, and there's just too much political correctness in this world, anyway.
There has also been talk that he was set up in that the photo was e-mailed to him around the time of the live broadcast, with a message "Turn Around."
Usually work places educate people ahead of time about what they are allowed to look at on their computers, so I have mixed feelings about it. Then again, if he was duped, it's not his fault. It all depends on how long he was staring at the photo. I'm sure the IT folks there can go through his tube and see if this was an everyday thing for him.
