As always, the Super Bowl drew in big budget commercials from Budweiser, Doritos and the usual suspects to fill the pricey 30-second spots. But, one newcomer into the fold this year was Google.  Google, had previously been against spending massive amounts of money on Super Bowl spots, let alone any TV advertising.  The commerical, features many searches about someone on a business trip to Paris, meeting a girl, and the several events that followed. The video had actually drawn attention on YouTube for 3 months prior to the Super Bowl. Google Chief Eric Schmidt explained in a blog post Sunday, "We didn't set out to do a Super Bowl ad, or even a TV ad for search. Our goal was simply to create a series of short online videos about our products and our users, and how they interact. But we liked this video so much, and it's had such a positive reaction on YouTube, that we decided to share it with a wider audience."Â
After it aired during the Super Bowl, many TV critics and viewers were a buzz with excitement. The commercial shows how useful Google can be used in every day life. And this TV spot, in particular, had a very sweet and romantic ending.Â
What do you guys think of the "little commercial that could?"Â Did you have any other favorite commercials from the Super Bowl?
