During tonight's coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on NBC, there was a story about polar bears in the Canadian province of Manitoba in the town of Churchill. Since polar bears are an endangered species, I think it's wonderful that Canada is trying to bring attention to these beautiful animals. Of course Canadians have their reasons for doing this. The migration of the polar bears through Churchill Manitoba has a strong impact on tourism. Guides in the area also use the bears' migration as an opportunity to raise tourists' awareness of the fact that both the polar bear species as well as their habitat is endangered.  This was an interesting news story that caught my attention tonight as I was waiting for figure skating to start.Â
