Recent news reports alerted many music fans that Gang Starr rapper, Guru (Keith Elam), suffered a heart attack on Sunday.Â Once Guru went into cardiac arrest it was reported that Guru was in a coma.Â His Gangstarr partner, DJ Premier, noted during a call-in to a radio show Hip Hop Nation that Guru would require emergency surgery in order to remedy the health problem.Â With fans hearing Guru was in a coma, many began questioning whether Guru was alive or dead now.Â The Guru dead rumors have continued to surface online on Tuesday, but recent news reports have said that Guru is recovering.
According to Billboard.com's recent report, DJ Premier updated his Twitter account with the following report on Guru's condition on Tuesday:
"Good news: #guru surgery was successful, keep sending him love,"
Later Premier posted this tweet:
"#Guru still in a med induced coma, he's breathing with machine help. And please reporters, don't copy without care. #Pray."
