UFC 112 results included a controversial Anderson Silva vs Demian Maia fight video, sparking a post-fight press conference tirade by UFC president Dana White, who said he was "disgusted" and "embarrased" by the performance.
Silva mocked Maia for most of the fight and refused to engage, something he's apparently done before. White was so frustrated he brought the subject up himself at the post fight press conference and admitted he stopped watching after the fourth round.
White essentially called the performance a disgrace, scolding Silva for making a mockery of the big stage.
In the end, though, it all works for UFC. I said this yesterday and I'll say it again today, particularly because the fact that nearly 24 hours has passed and we're still talking about this proves my point: Any publicity is good publicity. By raising a ruckus at the press conference White turned a forgettable fight into high drama, which will no doubt further the media machine connected to the UFC.
