The American Idol Top 12 performed Janet's "Again" from 1993 to start off the set. They extended their arms to welcome Janet to the stage as the crowd finally recognized her with her much shorter haircut. From there, Janet launched into a performance of her new song "Nothing" which is on the "Why Did I Get Married Too?" soundtrack.

From there, Janet went behind a screen to make sure she didn't have any wardrobe malfunctions. She went from her flowing dress to a skintight bodysuit showing off the booty. It was time for Miss Jackson, if you're "Nasty". Janet closed by performing the hit song along with male dancers and a laser light show. It was among the many surprises on the night including the return of Bret Michaels to the stage to duet with Casey James, as well as an odd Kanye-West type moment during a Dane Cook comedy bit. Add to that the surprise of many that Lee DeWyze is your 2010 American Idol winner, and Idol Season 9 may have finished off stronger than it started.
