Justin Bieber’s 4th of July Performance of “Somebody to Love” at Macy’s (video)

Justin Bieber performed Sunday night at the Macy’s 4^th of July Fireworks Celebration. A video of his performance of “Somebody to Love” is below. One word of caution: Don’t have the volume turned up too loud when you watch it. The piercing shrieks of preteen girls may burst your eardrums.

There’s not a whole lot of Justin Bieber singing in the video. It’s mostly his fans singing the chorus, with him singing every once in a while. I’ll admit it’s a catchy song, and not as obnoxious as “Baby”. I don’t get the point of the back-up dancers. And, I’m a few decades past the ideal fan demographic, but I can see why the kids like him. He’s just the right formula for preteen infatuation. Eventually, the fans will grow some form of musical taste and move on as they get older. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed.) But for now, the rest of us will have to endure Bieber until he’s replaced by the next big thing.
