President Barack Obama’s family was not invited to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding. Obama revealed to Barbara Walters on “The View” that he was not on Clinton’s invitation list. If the president was upset, he didn’t show it on during the interview.
As a matter of fact, Obama joked about not being invited:
“You don’t want two presidents at one wedding! All the secret service, guests going through (metal detectors), all the gifts being torn apart …” He stated, “I was not invited to the wedding…because I think Hillary and Bill, properly, want to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband.”
It’s understandable that Chelsea Clinton probably wants to keep her wedding as small and intimate as possible. News reports claimed the guest list was 400 names long. Barack Obama and Oprah were supposedly on the list. However, Obama and Oprah weren’t even invited so the leaked list was probably fake.
It’s possible that Chelsea Clinton’s camp is throwing out lots of false trails to keep the media occupied. In the meantime, they’re probably planning a very small and intimate wedding with only her close family and friends.
President Obama's interview on "The View" will air on Thursday at 11AM.
