On her recent sit down with Oprah, J.K. Rowling talked about the possibility of writing more Harry Potter books. The topic is something very important to fans of the books, who have been hoping for some continuation about the boy who lived.
Of course Row
ling now has more money than she knows what to do with, given that her wonderful books have not only sold like hot cakes, but have been made in to a series of motion pictures, grossing amazing amounts.
During her visit with Oprah, Rowling said "I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, tenth. I'm not going to say I won't. I don't think I will … I feel I am done, but you never know" (via PEOPLE).
Many Harry Potter fans seem to be getting a false hope from this statement. It is unlikely that Rowling will continue novels in the series, as a sort of continuation of Potter's life. However, do we want to see Potter get married and have children, or do we want to remember him as the boy wizard who was always getting mixed up in things around Hogwarts?
Potter has been very much a part of our generation thanks to Rowling, and we should be able to appreciate what she has done with her imagination.
Now, how about a book from Hermoine's perspective? Or the past of Professor Dumbledor?
