The BET Top 10 Rappers of the 21st Century was released not long ago, and the debates came quicker than an Eminem rap verse. Eminem topped that list, with names like Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Ludacris and 50 Cent also on there.
Thousands of fans voted on a big list of rappers assembled from BET. Next, a special panel made their decisions based on a final list of fifteen rappers. Since there were ten who made the final cut, it meant five rappers of the fifteen were obviously left out.  These included Eve, Fabolous and the man who brought us "Hot in Herrre."
That man is Nelly, and he recently gave his thoughts about his exclusion from the list in a video from ThatGrapJuice.Net. Nelly basically outsold most of the names on the list except one over the past decade, and he says he's heard before "numbers don't lie." Nelly also pondered what the criteria was for making this list.
Drake is on the list after only a short rap career, so it may be suspect. That's not to say Drake is not one of the Top rappers around right now, but over the past decade? It may be a stretch. Another couple names to consider switching Nelly for: Rick Ross or Jadakiss. Again, not to say they aren't bringing it right now or even during the past decade, but Nelly's a certified hitmaker who definitely was a top 10 rapper in terms of tracks and sales.
What do you think, does Nelly have a reason to be upset he wasn't part of the Bet Top 10 Rappers of the 21st Century? Are sales and popular songs enough to do it, or does he need to up his lyrical game to be on the list?
