Bruce Beresford-Redman may someday be playing "Survivor: Mexican Prison." The producer of the reality show was arrested yesterday and charged with murdering his late wife, Monica, while in Cancun seven months ago.
Monica Beresford-Redman's body was found in a sewer in Cancun after several reports of she and Bruce fighting while on vacation at a high-end resort were made. According to her sister, Monica accused the Survivor producer of cheating on their marriage.
While Bruce Beresford-Redman was arrested by American authorities, he has to be extradited to Mexico to play "Survivor: Mexican Court System." And he is not going to head for that particular series willingly. TMZ notes his attorneys are fighting the extradition request.
Whether Beresford-Redman killed his wife or not, that's to be expected, of course. Nobody really wants to go to prison. Mexican prison has such a bad reputation, it's even more understandable.
Sadly, there are young children involved in this situation as well. Bruce and Monica Beresford-Redman had two children together, a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy. HIs parents were given guardianship last week.
Bruce Beresford-Redman's been evading arrest since April, according to the Washington Post. He was hiding in Los Angeles from a warrant that was issued against him in Mexico.
Now that Bruce Beresford-Redman has been arrested, the long process of getting him to face justice in Mexico will begin. He's protested his innocence all along, but the question is, who else would kill his wife like that? At least he hasn't been golfing while claiming to be looking for the real killer.
