Will Arnold Schwarzenegger be back to reprise his 1990 role in the remake of the movie Total Recall? Probably not but the new movie will begin shooting next year just the same.
In the 1990 version of the science fiction film, Schwarzenegger played the part of a freedom fighter from the planet Mars who is sent to live on Earth.
Digitalspy reports that the new Total Recall will be directed by Len Wiseman who was also the director of Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. But who will be playing the part that Schwarzenegger played? Well, the role hasnÂ’t been cast as of yet but talk has it that the part was offered to Colin Farrell.
Toronto will be the filming city for the film with a budget of $200 million. ArnoldÂ’s Total Recall grossed $119 million on a $50 million budget.
Total Recall was a fairly good movie but was it good enough to be released 20 plus years later? It all depends on the cast and what changes might be made. The public can only wait and see if Colin Farrell, or whomever is cast as the lead, can make it as popular as Schwarzenegger did.
The new film is scheduled to be released in 2012. HereÂ’s hoping that movie goers might be able to see Arnold Schwarzenegger come back for a cameo appearance.
