Tonight on the ABC crime drama Castle, Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and her partner Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) investigate the murder of an NYC cab driver. Their first suspect is a Syrian diplomat. But when the pair discovers that the murder victim had radioactive materials in a storage locker, their victim and his family become suspected terrorists.
Castle and Beckett are exposed to some of the radiation inside the storage locker and are quarantined together for a short period of time. The chemistry between these two characters is palpable, especially when Kate confides in Rick about troubles in her relationship with her boyfriend Josh.
When Rick and Kate are released from quarantine, they return to the precinct, only to discover that a mysterious Agent Fallon (Adrian Pasdar) of the Department of Homeland Security is now in charge of the investigation.
Agent Fallon seems determined to prove that the cab driver and his cousin are guilty of terrorist activity, particularly after the bomb goes missing, and the cousin is seen on video transporting it. But neither Beckett nor Castle trusts Agent Fallon, and you canÂ’t really blame them, when you consider that Pasdar excels at playing shady characters. Many fans probably think that Agent Fallon may have something to do with the bomb plot, the murder or both.
Rick convinces Kate that their victim is being framed, and they work together to try and solve the murder. When Fallon finds out, he dismisses them both from the investigation. Of course, that doesnÂ’t mean they stop working on the case.
Rick keeps the specifics of the case from Martha (Susan Sullivan) and Alexis (Molly Quinn). Martha is planning a trip to a spiritual retreat aptly named Serenity (definitely a nod to Fillion’s previous role on Firefly). Martha invites Alexis, but it’s obvious that she doesn’t want to go; so he goes along with his daughter’s white lie about an upcoming physics exam. But when he learns about the danger that the bomb poses on the city, he sends Alexis with her grandmother.
While they are investigating the case, Castle and Beckett find the missing bomb and get shot at by an unknown assailant. They also find the body of one of the suspects in a refrigerated warehouse space, which they find themselves locked inside with traces of radiation.
Tune in to the show next Monday at 10pm/9c to see the riveting conclusion of this episode. Find out who committed to murder and whether or not Rick and Kate can get to safety before the bomb explodes.
