This weekend, Supernatural had its panel at PaleyFest, and of course, some spoilers were revealed. Upcoming episodes will feature the returns of Mary, Lisa and Ben, but unfortunately not the amulet.
Mary Winchester

In the 19th episode of the season, titled "Mommy Dearest," Samantha Smith is returning to play Mary, the boys' mother. She was last seen when the boys took a trip to heaven in "Dark Side of the Moon" in season 5, and it wasn't exactly a good experience for Dean. According to Sera Gamble, "when you see the episode, you will see why it had to be Smith. We had a specific reasoning for using her version of Mary. [Amy Gumenick played young Mary in episodes in seasons 4 and 5 when the boys traveled back to the past.] And you know, whenever Dean and Sam see their mother again, it's never really an entirely happy occasion!" So what's bringing her back? Promotional photos that have been released showing her and Samantha Ferris returning as Ellen hint that it's all connected to Mother of All, aka Eve, and as the season draws to an end, that's no surprise.
Lisa and Ben
In the 14th episode of this season of Supernatural, "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning," Dean went back to Lisa and Ben when the boy called him with a fake emergency. However, he did return to Sam to go back hunting even though Ben wanted him to stay, and they did show a montage of the three together, leading some fans to believe that could have been the farewell episode for the Braedens. Apparently that's not the case, and "their presences will certainly be felt in the next few episodes as Dean struggles with the idea of heaven blowing up and a purgatory here on Earth." However, with everything going on, it doesn't seem at all likely that he will be returning to live out that "normal apple-pie life" so it could simply be him trying to ensure their safety much like he planned at the end of season 5 when he was going to say yes to Michael.
The amulet
Since Dean dropped the amulet Sam gave him at Christmas when they were younger in the trash in "Dark Side of the Moon," fans have been hoping it would make a return appearance (perhaps because Sam picked it up or some other way), but it doesn't sound like that's the case, as Kripke said that "currently there are no plans to return the amulet." Once it was revealed who gave Dean the amulet, it has played an important part as acting as a symbol of the brotherly bond (and that's not even mentioning the fact that it burns hot in God's presence), and fans can't help but hope it somehow one day makes a return appearance.
What do you think of Mary Winchester returning to Supernatural? What about Lisa and Ben?
