Meredith Vieira Interview with Donald Trump...

In her interview with Donald Trump, Meredith Vieira failed to question the reality TV star and business mogul about his claims against President Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. The so-called "Birther" argument has nothing to back it up and has been disproved. That fact hasn't kept The Donald from discussing it all over the place in recent weeks.

One of the most controversial things is that she let Trump get away with saying that Obama's grandmother in Kenya witnessed his birth there. That claim has been proven false, but because the Today show host didn't question it, now many millions of people may believe it to be true.

Why didn't Meredith Vieira question Trump on this point? Is it because the Today show and The Celebrity Apprentice both air on NBC? Are they friends? Is she simply tired of being on the show? Seriously, even Fox News's Bill O'Reilly didn't let Trump get away with his Birther claims.

As for Donald Trump, he believes that "this country is going to Hell." Are you with him? He also considers himself a part of the Tea Party. Would you vote for him in 2012 if he runs? Surely Meredith Vieira could have done better with this interview. Perhaps she doesn't think he's serious about running, so she didn't worry about it. What do you think? who cares where he was born? are we at war with Kenya? no so who cares. also, having donald trump as our next president would be a horrible step down. 2012 anyone? end of the world anyone? Imagine our candidates are Sara Palin, Arnold Schwarzenegger & Donald Trump, just lovely.

Who cares if the man who holds the most powerful political office in the world is there legitimately? That is at best a juvinial statement. This could prove to be beyond the biggest scam ever in history and so many people don't care.
I care about the Presidents emphatic promises to make his administration the most transparent ever. Now whether you are for or against Obama you have to agree that this White House is one of the most opaque administrations in history. This is particularly obviously demonstrated in the amount of effort and money being expended to keep the President's past shrouded in mystery. Why can't he share his full record at Columbia University? How did he, as a a 19 year old student, manage to travel to Pakistan? I am the same age as the President and I know there was no way that I could have done that as an independent 19 year old.
Perhaps if the president would open up all his records to scrutiny these questions and many more would go away and he could enjoy more support from more Americans Until that happens he is just building more distrust from an ever growing number of American citizens, particularly those of us that blindly supported him in his last campaign.

We care because our constitution demands that any candidate for the presidency be a natural-born US citizen. The country with which we happen to be at war at any given time carries no bearing on the issue. I happen to agree that Trump is one of the more objectionable people out there who may or may not run for office, but we certainly have a history of objectionable and/or unqualified people run in the past: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Dennis Kuchinich, John Edwards, Barack Obama, etc.

Oh, and since the Governator was born in Austria, he can't run, so you can scratch him off your list of concerns. Unless his birth certificate goes missing, too.
