If the puppet opera in Forgetting Sarah Marshall wasn't proof enough of Segel's love of puppets, this new movie seems to be even more of a tribute to the creatures that shaped not only Segel's childhood but so many others as well. Segel co-wrote the film and stars in it opposite love interest Amy Adams.
The new Muppets trailer, which can be seen below, kind of makes fun of itself. Don't be shocked when it starts out as a rom-com trailer, because that's part of the story. And then suddenly, it lists the lead characters, including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. "Wait, wait, stop... are there muppets in this movie?" Jason Segel's character asks.
So, no, the Muppets trailer doesn't say exactly what the movie is about, but it does highlight that it will be a film-within-a-film. And, of course, there will be some big song-and-dance numbers as well as a bunch of Muppets-related chaos. So far, it looks good, and it'll be fun to see all the other trailer teasers between now and November.
What did you think of the new Muppets trailer? Do you plan to see the movie when it hits theaters?
