Erica Durance is best known for playing Lois Lane on the hit CW drama, Smallville, since season 4 all the way up until the finale. However, though the series ended just last month, she won't be unemployed—she has a new role already lined up.
New CTV pilot
Durance will be starring in a show described as "a sexy, fast-paced drama," Saving Hope. The show will take place in a Toronto hospital. It's from the same producer behind Rookie Blue, Ilana Frank, and that show certainly did very well last summer. In fact, it was renewed before the first season even ended, and it's returning this month for its second season. Frank isn't the only connection to Rookie Blue; the co-creator wrote the pilot for Saving Hope. Perhaps Erica Durance starring in it and these connections to Rookie Blue will be just what Saving Hope needs to do well. Work on the new production starts June 22 in Toronto.
It's good to hear that Durance is involved in a new project; she was Lois Lane for so long, and jumping into a new role is just what she needs so she's not remembered just for playing Lois and can get offers like she deserves for other roles.
