Shania Twain won't be singing just yet, but she's returning to the stage of the CMT Music Awards!
When the CMT Music Awards air next Wednesday night, a beautiful, talented, old friend named Shania Twain will be welcomed back to that party for the first time in seven years. The country beauty will be bolstered by younger talents like Justin Bieber, American Idol winner Scott McCreery, and his runner-up Lauren Alaina, who hardly remember that far back. Even back then, two years hence of her multi-platinum double album, "Up," she was known more for guarding her privacy than her stage presentations, so when Shania took a stage, it was always special. Ever since she dazzled in her sparkling pink short shorts with matching boots and hat for her first CMA performance, every time she graces a stage or red carpet is an occasion. Twain has been coming more out of the shadows and into her own all this year, with her OWN Network series, Why Not?, and the release of her autobiography, From This Moment On, released last month. She may still be finding her voice after the trauma of her betrayal and divorce from producer/writer Robert "Mutt" Lange, but she's proving she has a story to tell!
Twain has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide, three of them certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. Her 1997 "Come on Over" album became the best-selling album by a female in any genre, and the best-selling country album of all time. She receives her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, and will have some words for that moment, too. With new love, husband Frederic Thiebaud, and fans and friends like Reba McEntire cheering her on, hopefully, her harmonies will soon return with her spirit!
