With production set to start for Supernatural season 7 early next month, some spoilers have been released, and included in that is some tidbits about the first episode set to film—the one Jensen Ackles will be directing.
Young Sam and Dean are back
Earlier today, it was revealed that the third episode of the season, "The Girl Next Door," will be about Sam reconnecting with someone he knew when he was 15—and there will be flashbacks. With Jensen Ackles set to direct it, it wasn't too much of a surprise to find out the episode sounds like it will be Sam-heavy, and with flashbacks, that also helps to cut back on screen time for Ackles as Dean so he can focus more on work behind the camera. Since then, fans have been wondering if Colin Ford would be returning to play the 15-year-old Sam since he played the 13-year-old version. It has now been confirmed by Zap2it that he will be back, and when asked about Brock Kelly returning to play young Dean, his reps said, "there is a strong possibility that he will return," but "for future episodes" and not episode 3. Colin Ford also tweeted the news tonight: "Well I guess it's not a secret any longer. I am extremely excited to visit Vancouver really soon to film an episode of supernatural!!"
Kelly played the young Dean to Ford's Sam in the Supernatural episode, "After School Special," which happened to star another CW star, Candice Accola (The Vampire Diaries). Though that was the only episode Kelly appeared in, Ford has appeared in episodes over three seasons since "A Very Supernatural Christmas" in season 3, which featured flashbacks of Sam first learning about the family business. He even worked opposite Jared Padalecki in "When The Levee Breaks" when Sam was going through withdrawal from demon blood in Bobby's panic room.
Are you happy to hear Colin Ford and most likely Brock Kelly will be back on Supernatural for season 7?
