The second season of The Walking Dead, coming in October to AMC, will be introducing some new characters as the survivors from the first season move from Atlanta and the CDC to the rural area of Hershel's farm. One of those is Maggie, played by Lauren Cohan (Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Chuck).

Lauren Cohan talked to TV Guide about the upcoming season and gave some teasers: "If Maggie's entrance is anything to go by, we have a lot to look forward to. She wears jeans, kick-ass boots and rides a horse. She's very steely and views Glenn as a leader and the cutest of the bunch." It sounds like there's some romance coming for Glenn and Hershel's daughter, and it also sounds like fans are in for a treat when the survivors first arrive on the farm and Maggie is first introduced.
Cohan also talked about where the Hershels are staying on The Walking Dead, a house described as "old Victorian": "When you walk in, you get a sense of the happy family memories that were there and the desperation of how they live now." The world has changed for the survivors since they had to leave their homes and keep an eye out for zombies, but that doesn't mean that they don't still have their memories. Unfortunately it also sounds like the place with those memories for this family does have the gloomy side of the new world to it as well.
