Last season of NCIS ended with the new SECNAV showing Tony a picture of an agent he'd be handling for giving away top-secret information, and viewers were left wondering whose picture it was. How will this affect the rest of the team?
Tony's classified work
Secrets are never a good thing on this team, and last time Tony was keeping a secret from everyone, it was the fourth season and his undercover assignment for Jenny (and everyone knows how that turned out). Luckily, that "will be mostly wrapped up in the premiere," so it won't be dragged out and fans won't have to wait long to find the answer to the question, "Who's in that photo?"
What will happen with the team in the ninth season? It sounds like their relationships will be fine, based on what executive producer Gary Glasberg told TVGuide: "Our group will be working together as a team more often [this season] and not be quite as splintered as they sometimes are. There are certain things that [the new Secretary of the Navy] may want them to do, and they're going to have to unite in certain ways to take on those challenges."
Though it may have taken some time when Ziva first joined Gibbs' NCIS team for her to settle and the others to fully trust her, they do work very well together, and that's among the reasons why they're such a successful team. With change in authority always comes some wariness, and it sounds like with the new SECNAV giving them orders, Gibbs and his team will certainly be treading lightly around him. Last season also saw some tension developing between Gibbs and Tony when the former found out about the latter's relationship with EJ - he does have rule #12 (never date a co-worker) for a reason.
Who do you think was in that photo? What do you think of the new SECNAV? What are your predictions for NCIS season 9?
