Person of Interest is one of CBS' new dramas for the 2011-2012 fall season, and with JJ Abrams behind it, many are wondering if they're going to be setting themselves up for another Lost by tuning in, with each week providing more mysteries and no answers.
Will viewers get answers?
One of the major parts of the new series is the special machine that Michael Emerson's character, Mr. Finch, made, and it looks like it's going to take some time before all the mysteries of it are revealed. It's how Mr. Finch will be able to direct Jim Caviezel's character as to where to go as it searches through technology to spit out a Social Security number. However, it does not reveal if the person is someone Caviezel needs to save or needs to prevent from committing a murder.
So, will Person of Interest frustrate viewers much like Lost did week to week, leaving them yelling at their televisions, wanting answers? It sounds like there won't be as many mysteries, and though it would be nice to figure out just how Mr. Finch's machine works, there is much more going on in this show. However, will just the suggestion of mysteries dragging on keep people from tuning in? It is going to be airing Thursdays at 9PM, which already has shows like Grey's Anatomy, The Office, and Bones (when it premieres in November) that have established audiences. Maybe with the cast of Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson, and JJ Abrams behind the scenes, some will decide to check out the premiere and get hooked.
Will you be tuning in to Person of Interest in the fall?
