Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith might be spending some quality time together in the near future, just like Jennifer's ex Marc Anthony and Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith have been doing on the set of Hawthorne.
There are a lot of rumors floating around about how Jada and Marc have been getting too close on the set of their TV series, and if this truly is the case, Will just might give his wife a taste of her own medicine.
Apparently J-Lo really wants to star in a remake of the 1987 romantic comedy Overboard, which featured one of Hollywood's most beloved couples in Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. Jen would play Goldie's role as a spoiled and snobby heiress who develops amnesia. Her memory loss inspires a handyman who she treated badly (Russell) to exact his revenge by convincing her that she's his wife and getting her to help him take care of his household and three sons. And it's fairly obvious what happens from there.
It's not hard to imagine Jennifer Lopez playing a stuck-up snob, but filling Goldie's shoes will certainly be a tough order (wouldn't her daughter Kate Hudson be a better choice for the part?). As of right now word is that Will Smith is only attached through his production company, so he might not actually be playing Kurt Russell's character. However, it wouldn't be a bad casting choice -- since he's so darn likeable, Will might make the idea of an Overboard remake go over just a little bit better with those that fell in love with the original. Plus he could always get the "awww!" factor by casting his real-life son Jaden Smith in the movie with him.
But there's definitely one scenario that could make the Overboard movie sink. If he and Jada Pinkett are having marital trouble and Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez seem to be getting a little too friendly on the set of the film, upset fans might see Jen as another Angelia Jolie-esque home wrecker and refuse to see it. J-Lo and Will do have a lot in common -- they're both Scientologists and they both love acting and music, so they probably would get along pretty well.
So what do you think -- will they become the next Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt if they get together for a movie? Is the idea of redoing Overboard just as blasphemous as the Dirty Dancing and Footloose remakes in the works? And would you even care if J-Lo, Marc Anthony, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith partook in a little partner switching?
