In the 17th episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, "Get to the Punta," the cast head out for a vacation in the Dominican Republic. As usual with this group, there's drama from the get-go.
Episode 17 opens with everyone packing for the trip. It's hard to mention the packing without talking about the fact that while Melissa is packing, Joey G. h
as no qualms about millions of people seeing him sniff his wife's undergarments. Seriously? In the meantime, Jacqueline is busy packing swimsuits she'll never wear because she has body image issues and since she's going to be around Melissa and Teresa, there's no way she's showing her body.
The cast land in Punta Cana and Teresa finds she lost one of her bags, the one containing all of her costume jewelry. As the cast is heading their resort, Joe Giudice asks the driver to pull over alongside the road so he can relieve himself. Most of the other men decide to join Joe and relieve themselves along the open road as well.
Since this trip is all about the Gorgas and the Giudices mending their relationships, Albie decides it's a good idea to take everyone on a boat tour. Caroline stays behind because she has a migraine. While on the boat, everyone seems to have a good time and get along. Unfortunately, the cast has to stop for dinner and that's when the drama begins.
While on Juanillo Beach for dinner, the talk turns to Teresa and Joe opening their own restaurant, which was first mentioned in a conversation between Kathy and Teresa in an earlier episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. When Joe says that running a restaurant is different from running a banquet hall, Albert has to set him straight and tell him it's the same thing. Kathy comes back from the bathroom and jumps in the conversation. She says she and Rich are going to stick to catering because after talking to Albert, they realize how much time and energy would have to go into running a restaurant. Kathy says she can't see herself detaching from her kids that much. What seems to be an innocent statement by Kathy sends Teresa into a tizzy. Teresa insists Kathy is taking a dig at her and brings up Kathy saying she left Audrianna unattended at the christening. It's ironic that Teresa took offense to such an innocuous statement and has to dredge up the past with Kathy when Teresa says earlier in the episode when speaking about her brother that if you keep bringing up the past, you can't move forward.
Kathy then tries to explain to Teresa that she wasn't talking about her, but about herself and detaching from her own children. Teresa won't let it go, though. Chris tells Joe to end it, so Joe tells Teresa to shut up; he doesn't want to hear anymore. The two women keep going at it, so Joe tells Kathy to drop it, but it doesn't end until the Giudices walk away to go change. After Joe and Teresa walk away, Melissa and Joey G. come into the scene and want to know what happened. Joey G. says he doesn't have time for the Giudices' drama all the time. So much for a drama-free vacation.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.

Doesn't Joe own a pizza joint?? Now what is he looking to open?? Little confused there.
I will tell you, I was on the 'fence' with Kathy. Not anymore. I like her.
Why was the Gay roommate there?? Is he more than roomates with Albie??
I will say, Melissa is gorgeous. Great body. She doesn't compare to Tre.
Maybe that is the problem?? Tre knows it, and Melissa just can't help herself rubbing it into Tre's face???
What was the sense of the swimsuit fashion show?? To make Tre look more the idiot than we already know her to be??
And Caroline..too old for this nonsense. That is where the migrane came from...

I watched the episode in the morning (thanks to DVR), and I have to admit...I have a weak stomach in the mornings anyway, and by the time we finished with the sniffing of swimsuit bottoms and the little "quickie" in the changing room...I was literally nauseous. Maybe it was my weak stomach, but maybe it wasn't....I think the stuff some of the cast members do is just sickening at this point. I don't care what people do behind closed doors, I'm not prude, but really? Seriously? They want their family or their children to see that kind of nonsense and see them making fools out of themselves in front of millions of people? Melissa talks about "having class," but, um....
Yeah, Joe already owns a pizzeria, but apparently the Giudices are looking at opening a new restaurant based on Teresa's cookbooks, so the only food served would be made from the recipes in her books. A nifty idea, sort of, but as Albert pointed out even though people love Teresa and her books, that doesn't mean they're going to be willing to drive an hour to eat the food.
I'm not sure why Greg was there. He's irrelevant to this show, but he keeps trying (really hard) to be relevant.
I think there are some underlying jealousy issues between Melissa and Teresa. I'm not sure if it all has to do with their looks, but maybe some of it. Honestly, some family members don't like it when a spouse comes into the picture. They feel threatened, although at this point, after the Gorgas have been together this long and with 3 kids, IF that is an issue, Teresa needs to get over it already.
I was on the fence with Kathy as well, just because I am usually that way when someone new comes on the scene, but, yep, I like her. She reminds me a bit of Caroline, which so far out of all the Housewives series, is the only one that seems to have any sense!
Tre is jealous of Melissa. We know that. Tired of knowing it. Is making bad TV already.
Yes I thought Kathy & Caroline had alot in common. Bascially maturity.
I would through Jaqueline in with them, but she loves the 'bickering' drama, so she isn't quite old enough yet to go to Caroline & Kathy's side.
I think there is more to Greg than meets the eye. He is having a 'relationship' with one of the 'guys' on that show. No if ands or buts.
But which one?
Where and who is financing Joe for anything?? Are they from another planet??
