Glee has a big episode coming up for two of its couples: Blaine and Kurt, and Finn and Rachel. Appropriately titled "The First Time," Kurt and Rachel will be taking the next step with their boyfriends. How is Finn and Rachel's relationship?

Lea Michele talked to The Hollywood Reporter about what's coming up for Finn and Rachel. Finn's currently torn because Rachel has decided to run against Kurt for student president. However, Michele has revealed, "We obviously make up because the fifth episode is called 'The First Time.' I think this season we all have our ups and downs. It's very interesting the way that it's bled into the story line. I love the choice that they made with how it sort of happens. But everything is really a lesson for Rachel to be learned; she sort of makes a decision but always learns a lesson. As a fan of the show, it's definitely something that I would want to see him and Rachel do."
The couple is taking the next step, but they do still have a lot going on this season. They have to figure out what's coming for them after graduation, since she plans to head to New York and he doesn't know what he wants to do yet. She has been supportive, but what will happen when the time comes for them to finalize their future plans? "The First Time" is also the Glee episode that introduces the recruiter who turns out to be a love interest for Coach Beiste. This recruiter could also be someone who helps Finn figure out his future. Where will that leave Finn and Rachel as a couple? Will their plans take them to separate states?
Rachel and Kurt's friendship
Though Finn and Rachel's relationship is repaired, the same can't be said about her friendship with Kurt. Michele explains, "It's slightly mended, as best it could be," when "The First Time" airs. They started off the season in a good place and were there for one another when they realized they had to tweak their post-graduation plans, but he was not happy to hear that she planned to run for student president as well. He was hoping to do more than just add extracurricular activities to his college applications, and she is now the lead in McKinley's production of West Side Story. How long will it take for their friendship to get back to what it was? Will it be able to?
