There may be some time before Rookie Blue season 3 begins, but that doesn't mean there aren't some interesting casting tidbits out about what's coming up for the rookies and the training officers when the show returns. So what does Division 15 have coming up?

According to TVLine, there will be a new character "in three episodes of Season 3 [who] will likely recur during Season 4." This character is "Leslie, a smart detective in her 30s who has the gravitas to run a division." It sounds like she'll likely be introduced towards the end of the season if there's the possibility of her returning for season 4. Will she end up in the middle of the complicated romances that seem to pull so many of the characters in? It's nearly impossible to even begin to speculate since the couples could change from how they were to end season 2 before she's even introduced.
Rookie Blue has been impressive its first two seasons, and each renewal hasn't been a surprise. If the show continues to air strong episodes and to keep the right balance of showing the officers' professional and personal lives, there's no reason to think there won't be a fourth season and therefore see more of Leslie since she's "likely" to recur then.
Rookie Blue's second season ended with Andy and Sam together, but both suspended for their actions. What comes next for those two? There's also the matter of Best and Noelle, who was pretty sure she was pregnant—and not via IVF. The couples who were together at the end of the season seemed to all be in good places, but will that be true when the show resumes? What will this new character of Leslie think of what she's going to end up seeing when she joins the cast?
