Last night's shocking disqualification of contestant Angelea Preston has many fans of America's Next Top Model crying foul! One former judge has come forward with startling claims that the show is actually rigged.
Janice Dickinson is a former model who spent some time as a judge on the show. She was excited to judge the show, until she learned the truth. Dickinson says that it doesn't matter who the judges want to win, there is a higher up pulling the strings. Dickinson said:
'Cover Girl are the people that choose the model... Not any of the judges, not what Tyra says. It's who Cover Girl thinks should win, each season. When I found out, I split. The fact of the matter is now [Tyra's] made like $90million... she makes a lot of money per year still hawking that franchise worldwide... it's Cover Girl that chooses the winner.'
That's a pretty shocking statement! What makes it even crazier is that Dickinson said this a day before the whole Angelea Preston controversy.
It makes sense that Cover Girl would have a lot of say as to who stays and who goes, considering that the winner gets a contract with them. Could their say have anything to do with Angelea's disqualification?
Probably not. Angelea had the determination that a top model needs, but she also had a habit of saying things that she shouldn't. That is what many are saying lead to her disqualification.
Angelea made her fair share of appearances in the bottom two and many felt that she should have gone home long before the final three. Could Cover Girl's influence have been what was keeping her there?
