Featuring every pop hit of the past year from Katy Perry's "Fireworks to Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" and of course a little Rhianna, Lady Gaga and LMFAO among others, the song manages to be a hit all on its own. Even Adele makes an appearance because a look back at 2011's music would never be complete without her. If there's anything Glee has taught us, it's that there's really nothing more musically magnificent than a pop mash-up when it's done right and DJ Earworm's 2011 compilation gets an A. Living up to his name, the song is infectious and sure to be the dance anthem at every New Year's bash.
The icing on the cake is that for a pop song made up of pop songs, it actually manages to say something. As cheesy as it sounds, "World Go Boom" couldn't be a more fitting subtitle for a song encompassing 2011. From the earthquake in Japan, to the death of Osama Bin Laden, to the Occupy Wall Street movement, this has definitely been an explosive year.
What do you think of DJ Earwom's "United State of Pop 2011 (World Go Boom)"?
