Hawaii Five-0 was one of the series renewed as part of CBS' announcement of returning shows next fall, and like season 2, season 3 is going to feature at least one new series regular.

According to Deadline, Michelle Borth, who, until now, has only been recurring in seasons 1 and 2 of the CBS procedural drama, is going to be around on a much more permanent basis next fall. In fact, she's going to be a series regular, which means it wouldn't be surprising to see things continue to get more serious between Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Borth's Lt. Catherine Rollins. Until now, they've only gotten the chance to spend time together when she happens to be in Hawaii (or when he decides to take some time to go with her, even if it's not exactly on a vacation).
Well, that's going to change with Hawaii Five-0 season 3. So what will that mean for their relationship? Will the dynamic change for the show? When Borth joined the cast of Combat Hospital, some wondered what that would mean for her role on H50, but since that show didn't last more than one season, why not bring Borth on for more of H50? Though they've only happened occasionally since she hasn't been in many episodes up until now, it has been enjoyable to see the scenes between Catherine and Steve, and that's sure to continue with her now a series regular for the third season.
