When White Collar returns for its fourth season, Neal's not going to be in New York anymore, but he may be taking something from someone he knows in the city and going with it as he changes up how he lives his life a bit.
Season 4 Spoilers
According to TVLine, Matt Bomer has said, "Neal admires Peter's picket-fence existence, and he thinks that maybe in his new life he can have that for himself. And Mia's character is a key component in that because she is a girl who is a local but who has a really good head on her shoulders. She's someone he sees a lot of potential in." That's Mia Maestro, who's going to be a new woman, Maya, in Neal's life while he's "on-the-lam," and of course you have to wonder what that will mean when he (inevitably) returns to New York.
Neal can't stay away forever in White Collar season 4, and that means there has to be some more Neal and Sara in store. So what will she have to say when she hears about how he spent his time away? Will this just be added to the list of things they still need to talk about? There is plenty that needs to be explored in the fourth season about Neal, and that includes looking into his family. With that, plus other questions about him (such as his real name), will Sara even need to worry about whom he's with while away since it doesn't seem likely this thing with Maya is going to be something that lasts past him leaving her behind? However, the fact that he's been thinking that he could want what Peter has could be brought up when he returns to New York. Could it come up in a conversation with Sara when they talk about the future?
