The Vampire Diaries season 3 has another dance coming up with episode 20, "Do Not Go Gentle." Of course, a dance in Mystic Falls means trouble and likely tragedy, so what's coming up this time?

"Alaric (Matt Davis) finds an unexpected ally to guide him on his dangerous new path, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Meredith (guest star Torrey Devitto) try to figure out what their next move should be. At the school's 1920s Decade Dance, Bonnie (Kat Graham) asks Jamie (guest star Robert Ri'chard) to go with her and, at Caroline's (Candice Accola) suggestion, Elena (Nina Dobrev) asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to be her date. Caroline is pleasantly surprised when Tyler (Michael Trevino) shows up at the dance determined to sweep her off her feet, but Klaus (Joseph Morgan) does his best to come between them. The dance takes a deadly turn when Damon and Stefan realize they need the help of Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and especially Bonnie to undo a spell that could prove devastating for everyone."
Obviously Alaric can't exactly be trusted considering his evil psycho alter ego who has a habit of doing things that puts them all in danger, such as hiding a white oak stake. Who will end up helping him with what's going on in his life when episode 20 airs? If there's one thing that the CW drama has shown, it's that there can be some pretty strange alliances. That's going to be true with "Do Not Go Gentle," as the episode synopsis reveals that Damon and Meredith are going to also be working on the same thing.
However, of course the focus is all on the dance. Dances on The Vampire Diaries tend to mean tragedy, bloodshed, and the like, as well as love triangles, dance floor partners, and even more drama, and that's going to be true with the Decade Dance. Bonnie may choose Jamie as her date, but with Jeremy back in town, is there any hope for those two to get back together, or will Bonnie have moved on? The love triangle between Damon, Elena, and Stefan seems to be taking a turn towards Stefan's side, since he's going to be her escort, but anything could happen before the end of the dance. Then there's the newer love triangle of Klaus, Caroline, and Tyler. Even though Klaus is a murderer, that's not going to stop him from putting in his bid to be with her, and his attempts to get between Caroline and Tyler could lead to a tragic moment.
Finally, there's that spell that they need undone. Will it have something to do with the bloodlines? You could see why they need Bonnie's help and even maybe Jeremy's (you don't know what's happened to him since he's been gone), but poor Matt's going to end up in the middle of it too? He's lucked out and stayed alive this long. You can't help but want him away from the drama so he continues to stay alive.
