Glee season 3 continues next week with episode 16, "Saturday Night Glee-ver," next week, and a couple of the performances are now out as McKinley High goes disco for this themed episode.
Glee Season 3 Episode 16 "Saturday Night Glee-ver" Sneak Peeks
The performance of "You Should Be Dancing" (below) begins with the students in class. With a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, Blaine begins singing and Mike and Brittany join him. The performance moves from the classroom to the hallway to the stage, as the others watch from the audience. It's hard not to love any time that Harry Shum Jr. and Heather Morris get to show off their dance moves, and that happens in this number. They're having fun with the number, and at least some of the students watching it seem to enjoy it. But it's obvious that disco is not their thing.
The clip (below) shows Will and Sue in her office. He admits that he's out of ideas, something that she obviously agrees with: "You've been out of ideas since Madonna week." She does suggest giving the students a famous album as the weekly assignment, but he reminds her of what happened the last time he did that. However, she has an actual suggestion: "the soundtrack that defined a generation... Saturday Night Fever." He's all for it, but he reminds her that the students "hate disco." She reminds him that they "love swag" (and flashbacks show that's true) and tells him they're going to give the students "something to fight over." So what will be at stake this time? It seems like it's going to be enough to get the students interested in the assignment, even though they hate disco. Who will take home the prize at the end of the week?
In the Glee season 3 episode 16 sneak peek of "Disco Inferno" (below), Mercedes, Santana, and Brittany take over the McKinley High hallway for the number, and you can see why Jane Lynch said that Amber Riley "killed" this number in the behind-the-scenes "Saturday Night Glee-ver" video. Their performance ends on ta stage in the choir room, and as good s it was to see Heather Morris and Harry Shum Jr. dancing in "You Should Be Dancing," this number does look like it will easily beat out the other one when the episode airs.
