Fringe season 4 will be airing its episode 19, "Letters of Transit," next week, and of course, it's going to be a bit out there. This one is going to be taking viewers years into the future...to 2036.
Fringe Season 4 Episode 19 "Letters of Transit" Promos
"The FRINGE tradition of a mind-bending 19th episode continues as the story jumps ahead to 2036, when the Observers and the Fringe team engage in a game-changing battle."
Things are certainly going well for Peter, Olivia, and Walter in the present. Peter and Olivia are back together, Walter couldn't be happier for his son, and even Lincoln may have found a place where he can fit in for now, granted it's in the other universe. So it's the perfect time to take a look at a time when things are definitely nowhere near perfect.
As the Fringe season 4 episode 19 promo for "Letters of Transit" (below) that aired after episode 18, "The Consultant," shows, everything's different in the future. It's all about the Observers, who, as Walter explains, "took our planet from us." This promo offers a look at the new agents, played by Henry Ian Cusick and Georgina Haig, and they've turned to Walter for help because "your team discovered a way of getting rid of the Observers." That's obviously what needs to be done here. Peter says, "We'll do everything we can. I promise." But how will this end for them? How will this end for everyone? What will this mean for when they switch back to the present timeline? What knowledge will viewers be left with? And, of course, there's that last shot of Walter that leaves you with questions.
That's not the only promotion that Fox has been doing for this twisty 19th episode, and with good reason. There is a series of teasers, "April 20th Is The Nineteenth" (below) that has been showing up online, each with blurry images, hidden messages, and some dialogue teases. Each ends with "No" followed by flashes of words such as "hope," "joy," and "freedom." These are promos that are going to end up making you use that pause button very frequently. Hidden inside them are also parts of a website, all which will lead to a YouTube video once it's complete. This looks like it may be one of the best episodes of the season.
