Dancing with the Stars 2012 resumes this evening on ABC with week 7 of season 14 action. With an injured partner by her side, Little House actress Melissa Gilbert enters this round of the competition at a distinct disadvantage, but retains a positive attitude.
In her April 30 blog for People, Melissa shared her feelings on the rigors of the competition and updates viewers on pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy's injury. She called Maks' injury "a real problem for Team MGMC" but assured fans that the pair had secured "back-up plans for our back-up plans". Despite feeling "beyond sore" and "bruised like crazy", Melissa teased that their individual dance, the emotionally charged Argentine Tango, could well be the pair's "best dance yet".
If they hope to stick around much longer, they'll need a blockbuster performance under their belts. Entering this week, Melissa and Maks have the lowest cumulative score of all remaining hopefuls. They trail leaders Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas by a whopping 32-point margin.
In addition to their individual performance, Melissa and Maks will also take part in a Team Paso Doble alongside fellow competitors William Levy and Donald Driver, and their partners Cheryl Burke and Peta Murgatroyd.
Is Melissa Gilbert's most successful dance of the season truly on the horizon? Tune in to Dancing with the Stars 2012 week 7 tonight at 8 PM on ABC and find out.
