Revenge season 1 continues this week with episode 20, "Legacy," and it's time to flashback to 2002 and when Emily—still Amanda—began planning. It's time for the New Year's party from the photograph.
Revenge Episode 20 "Legacy" Sneak Peeks
If you weren't already looking forward to this episode (and why wouldn't you be?), the newest clips out should be enough to change your mind. It's getting close to the end of the show's first season, and when better than now to flashback to how it all came together.
In the first sneak peek (below), you get a glimpse of Nolan and Amanda in the past. He's trying to help her out, but she doesn't seem to have a care in the world. He's more worried about future charges after what she did to a guy in a club bathroom. He promised her father that he'd watch out for her, but she argues that he doesn't even know her. He reminds her just where it is they met and tells her he doesn't want his money back. He just wants her to use it for something other than what she has been (self-destruction). He knows she hasn't read the journals, but she just says it wouldn't change the fact that he's dead. He tells her to read them, but she just walks away. Yes, Emily and Nolan scenes were just as good in 2002 as they are in the present.
The second Revenge episode 20 clip (below) shows Lydia and Michael arriving a day early because they've been house shopping in the neighborhood. Conrad joins Victoria in greeting them, and Lydia reveals that they put an offer on David's old beach house. Michael explains that the corporation that got it in an auction isn't entertaining any offers.
The third "Legacy" sneak peek (below) shows Conrad alerting Victoria to a situation: a card with "SHAME" and signed "david clarke" came in the mail. They're treating it as a threat, and that means that Frank's going to put together a list of anyone who had any idea about the cover-up. They're going to be attending their party, and Frank will be narrowing down the list of suspects there. Victoria doesn't want to ring in the New Year with those people, but Conrad points out just what it would mean for them if the truth came out. And so the stage is set.
If "Legacy" lives up to its potential (and these clips certainly point to it doing just that), it could be one of the best episodes of the season. Already the clips tease what's coming up: Amanda getting on track to become the Emily Thorne everyone knows today, everyone in the same room during that party, and, of course, more to love from Nolan. It gives the show a chance to bring back some characters who might not otherwise be seen again, and it allows them to give that New Year's party the exploration it deserves.
