Jessica Sanchez is taking the weekend off from American Idol rehearsals to sing and enjoy her hometown located in San Diego County, California.
But don't worry.
This tiny teen won't lose her chops because she'll be singing as she returns to her people. In fact, she is scheduled to perform with the Navy Band on the USS Midway where she will also win a proclamation, according to a local report.
The 16-year-old will actually have a busy time while visiting her home south of Los Angeles in Chula Vista, a town in San Diego County located very close to the California/Mexico border.
Sanchez is set to be treated like a diva, being given an Eastlake High escort to the school where she is a junior. She will go there with all of a heroes' trimmings, including a marching band and a color guard. To get there, Jessica will be taken through the streets to this place of education's football field where this amazing young singer will be feted like she has never been feted before.
No doubt this homecoming will be something to remember for Jessica Sanchez, one of three American Idol hopefuls vying for the win on the TV talent show. Even the mayor of her hometown agrees.
In fact, Chula Vista's mayor Cheryl Cox said, "Her amazing talent and accomplishments are deserving of this grand celebration."
So, with all this waiting for Jessica Sanchez this weekend, will this American Idol member of the top 3 with Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips return to Tinseltown from San Diego to win the competition? What do you think her chances are? Please weigh in.
