Phillip Phillips may have the weekend off from American Idol rehearsal duties, but he is still being followed around by AI cameras as he enjoys the hero worship back home in Georgia so that a pre-taped package can be put together to show the TV talent show's fans on Monday night.
Meanwhile, while both Jessica Sanchez goes back to her roots and so does Joshua Ledet, Phil's triumphant return to his people in Leesburg was met with a huge celebration that included a parade celebrating this talent who went on national TV to prove his musical prowess.
The Southern gentleman with the double name also gave interviews to local media outlets in Southwest Georgia, he dined on the chicken cheese nachos he was craving while he was in Los Angeles, and he made a pit stop at his dad's pawn shop where hordes of fans had gathered to see him in the flesh.
More was in store for Phillip Phillips as he continued his weekend away from American Idol and back home in Georgia where this fellow is a popular guy these days. Though, given what America has seen of him during the course of AI, you would have to say he was probably a popular guy even before the competition began.
