The new Nicki Minaj and Nas "Right By My Side" music video has debuted online as of Wednesday night. Minaj's latest video also features singer Chris Brown, as a prospective love interest in the mini-movie that accompanies her song.
According to Chicago Tribune, the new video is directed by Benny Boom. To his credit, he's produced videos for some of the biggest stars in hip hop including 50 Cent, Nelly, Monica, and Nas. Nas appears in this latest video with Minaj, as does Chris Brown, with both acting as love interest.
That fact there brought Nas and Nicki Minaj dating rumors to the net quickly, but they were squashed as hearsay since it was just make believe for the video. However, in the new video, the two do share a passionate kiss at the very end. Minaj reportedly tweeted an answer to a fan about it on her still-in-tact Twitter account:
Ummm. Yes. Yes we did> RT @iRomanMinaj: @NICKIMINAJ Ya'll must've practiced that kiss more than once b/c that was perfection tbh!!!!!
The new video can be seen here at YouTube. The song reportedly went as high as #24 on the US Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart, and this latest music video will try to help Nicki continue sales of "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." The album met mixed reviews with some questioning Nicki's indulgence in pop and dance music rather than sticking to hip hop on the album.
Fair warning while the new video isn't explicit in its images, it is explicit in the lyrics, so it may not be safe for work. Check it out at YouTube and let everyone know what you think in the comments section below here.
