Rumors have been flying about Robert Pattinson being cast in the next film in The Hunger Games series, Catching Fire. Now the actor has spoken out about those rumors. Reports had Pattinson set to take Finnick Odair in the film. Are the reports true?
Pattinson was actually surprised to hear about the rumors when he took to the red carpet in Cannes. The actor is there to support Cosmopolis. The questions made him call his agent right away to see if the rumors about The Hunger Games casting were true. That is one big sign that they aren't. Pattinson said the following about the rumors, according to Gossip Cop:
"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, 'No. No one's going to offer you that part.' I was like, 'Thanks for the reassurance.'"
Gary Ross, the man who directed the first film in The Hunger Games series actually put a Twilight ban on the cast, but Ross is no longer involved with the series. Francis Lawrence is in charge of Catching Fire, and he has worked with Pattinson in the past.
Would Robert Pattinson have been a fit for the character of Finnick? Or should the two film series keep their casts separate?
