"Twilight! Hunger Games!" Although there was some stiff competition for Best Movie at the MTV Movie Awards, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and The Hunger Games were the main contenders for Movie of the Year. Everyone knew one of the two would take the Golden Popcorn, especially host Russell Brand who couldn't help periodically yelling the names of the films.
Ultimately, the supernaturals beat out the survivalists for the coveted award. Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed, and producer Wyck Godfrey were on hand to accept the honor. Unfortunately, Robert Pattinson was otherwise engaged and was unable to attend the red carpet event.
Kristen was so moved by the honor, she even said something complimentary about Twilight. "I get asked a lot of questions, especially about Twilight, which I love," she said. "The most common is, like, 'God, you must be so happy to get away from it. You must be so happy to distance yourself from it as far away as you possibly can.' And I'm like, 'Shut up! What are you talking about?'"
Taylor Lautner's portion of the acceptance was a bit more polished and traditional. He thanked all of the cast and crew for their "hard work and passion." Lautner also, of course, used the time to promote Part Two. "I'm so excited for you guys to see the last and final part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 in theaters November 16." Twilight has won the Golden Popcorn in that category for four years in a row, and the final installment may well give them a fifth next year.
