Could Fifty Shades of Grey be getting a very sexy director in Angelina Jolie?
The gorgeous actress would probably be the perfect person to direct the movie based on the erotic novel about a college student who falls in love with a guy that's into BDSM—former wild child Angelina certainly hasn't had any problem showing off her sexy side. She kind of seems like she might be into some of the kinky stuff in the book, and she's probably more like Christian Grey than Anastasia Steele.
Angelina has also done sex scenes and nude scenes in movies, so she'd be able to help the actress playing Anastasia feel a little more comfortable while filming some extremely awkward scenes. Plus a movie like Fifty Shades of Grey probably needs a female director since it's based on the steamy novels that mostly female authors write—women love that feminine touch, so why erase it from the movie?
But don't get too excited about Angelina Jolie directing the movie just yet. There are rumors that she's in the running for the job, but reps for Jolie and Focus Features have denied that any talks have taken place or that the job has been offered to her. However, sources say that Focus would definitely be interested in having Angie onboard.
It's such a shame that Brad Pitt is too old to play Christian Grey, the billionaire with a Red Room of Pain full of sex toys. However, it's fun to imagine Angelina Jolie directing someone like Robert Pattinson in Fifty Shades of Grey—can you imagine how anxious and scared he would be? But Kristen Stewart would probably be an even bigger mess if she got cast as Anastasia Steele.
In the Land of Blood and Honey proved that Angie has no problem directing a controversial movie, so perhaps she'll really consider directing Fifty Shades—it's got a built-in fan base, so taking it on could win her a lot of respect as a director if she gets it right. And if she doesn't do the book justice, then women will probably hate her more than they already do for being in a relationship with Brad Pitt and being so darned beautiful and talented. So there'd be no pressure or anything.
Do you think that she'd be the perfect director for the movie?
