With The Dark Knight Rises spoilers a constant focal point for fans wanting to ruin surprises, it appears one spoiler has emerged above the rest: The final Batman movie by Christopher Nolan will be worth seeing. This comes after a standing ovation came at one of the first advance screenings of the film.
As Batman movie spoilers showed up earlier today in the form of a special new 13-minute long featurette video, the news of positive feedback never hurts when it comes to movie decision-making. The website ComicBookMovie.com reports several tweets which contained positive news about the upcoming film.
Lauren Hiestand, an official YouTube movie reviewer, tweeted:
"The Dark Knight Rises has just finished screening for the press and critics, receiving a STANDING OVATION!!"
Movie screener Tom McAuliffe tweeted:
"Just finished the screening of Dark Knight Rises...so much awesome...can't wait to see it again. And again."
Another note from McAuliffe said that he'd give this film a 9 out of 10, with Avengers at 8.5, and Spider-Man at 7.5 for his ratings. Sounds about right based on what comic book fans have been expecting from this trio of superhero blockbusters.
Most diehard fans already have their minds made up, although some have been slightly skeptical over how good this Dark Knight Rises film will be. However, the positive early reception seems to indicate that this is the summer movie to see. The good news is that spoilers about whether or not Batman will die in The Dark Knight movie, or if Robin will show up on screen, have yet to be revealed. Hopefully those who saw the advanced screenings will remain tight-lipped and abide by any waivers they might have signed not to reveal spoilers.
Speaking of spoilers, out of the early screenings, some things to mention include the fact that some say Bane has the "best moments" of all the characters, and that there are some controversial, even tear-evoking moments in the film. Take that for what it's worth, but Nolan and company have to be feeling good as their epic comic book movie heads into U.S. theaters later this month.
Do you think the expectations for the final Batman movie are becoming too high for Christopher Nolan and crew? Will this movie be able to outdo The Dark Knight film which was up for an Oscar award?
