NCIS season 9 ended on quite the cliffhanger. Every member of the team in headquarters went down when the bomb went off. Ducky had a heart attack moments after learning what happened and preparing to head back from Jimmy's wedding. Some of the cast wasn't signed yet for season 10. Well, now there's some good news out for fans.
Season 10 Premiere Date and Cast Futures
Deadline has reported that Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, and Sean Murray, the last three cast members to sign on for the new season, have done so—and "have all signed two-year deals." Considering how big of a hit the series is, it would be absolutely shocking if it suddenly went downhill and there wasn't an eleventh season. So it is likely that NCIS season 10 won't be the last and after next season, fans won't have to worry about these actors continuing on with the show.
Also, TVLine has announced that the season premiere will air on September 25. It's still in its Tuesday at 8 p.m. time slot (you don't mess with a good thing, and CBS is smart). That's the time and date fans will learn what happens next after that bomb. Since everyone's signed on, all the characters obviously live, but there's going to be quite the aftermath. Tony and Ziva were in an elevator together, and considering they're the "will they/won't they" couple, there will be something to discuss. Ducky's heart attack isn't something that will just go away. There will be long-lasting effects. Brian Dietzen was promoted to a series regular for season 10, so it is likely that Jimmy Palmer will be taking on a bigger role at work, at least while Ducky heals. The show wouldn't be the same without Ducky, but Jimmy can do any heavy-lifted and anything Ducky needs him to take care of while he gets back on his feet. It should be an exciting season.
Will you be tuning in to NCIS season 10 this fall?
