Supernatural is going into its eighth season, and the cast and producers were on hand at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con to discuss what's coming up in the fall. Gather.com had the chance to sit down and talk to them to find out some spoilers about what to expect in the press room.

Jared Padalecki, in the video below, previews just what Sam's up to while Dean's in purgatory; which character he "turns his back on;" Sam's new love interest (Amelia, played be Liane Balaban) and how he meets her; and more.
As Padalecki teases, Supernatural season 8 will see what happens after Sam says, "Everybody I know is dead or somewhere else, hell with it. I'm gonna quit, officially quit... because I'm not turning my back on anybody." However, he will be turning his back on someone he doesn't know is dead or alive.
He also talks a bit about Amelia, whom he describes as "a lost soul as well, as she'd have to be to fall for a guy like Sam, because he obviously has a lot of issues." Sam will meet her when he takes a dog he hits to a veterinary clinic: "They kind of hit it off, but nothing happens. I run into her again, and we start dating. I don't know exactly what happens... but we're seeing flashbacks of Sam happy... in a relationship where he cares about somebody, they care about him, and the problems they have are 'normal' problems."
It won't be a Sam-heavy season, as Padalecki goes on to say they'll show plenty of Dean and his time in purgatory. The season is going to rely on flashbacks to explain what happened to each brother while the Winchesters were apart.
Will you be tuning in to Supernatural season 8?
