The new Nas "Life is Good" album is available for free live stream online, just a day ahead of the big album download release. This makes for the hip hop star's tenth studio album, and for many fans a return to the form that has made him of the best rappers of all time.
This latest release is one of the more anticipated album releases of the 2012 summer season, which includes upcoming LP's from Rick Ross and Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music crew. According to Live Hip Hop Nation, the new Nas album features Rick Ross, Anthony Hamilton, and Swizz Beatz, as well as the late Amy Winehouse. The newest LP (pictured), features at least 18 songs, with bonus tracks, such as the recent song "Trust," available for the iTunes version. It's also Nas' first solo album since his "Untitled" album back in 2008.
Nas has been a rapper who has found himself discussed by many hip hop fans through the years as one of the best of all time. However, other rappers such as Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, even Kanye West, seem to overshadow him when it comes to top 10 lists or "greatest rapper alive" debates. This could be due to less mainstream radio rotation and commercial success for Nas, which is probably just fine with him. He's still sold millions and continues to entertain millions with his lyrical skills, often weaving in socially conscious or gritty, reality-based stories into his songs.
After hearing the earliest leaked singles from the new album, including "The Don" and "Loco-Motive" (featuring Large Professor), it's clear this album will be a welcome addition to many iPods and car stereos for summer 2012. For those who have been fans since his debut back in the early '90s, it's good to have Nasty Nas back.
